Hey all, I'm excited to delve in this new found hobby of mine! :yay: I've spent countless hours brushing up on things and one simple question I have is: What is a carrier oil? Why is it called a carrier oil and not just an oil? Is there a major difference between carrier oils and essiential oils? I'm probably thinking too hard here lol Thank you!

Essentials oils are scents like Lemongrass, Lavender, etc. a carrier oil is like a vegetable or nut oil, like olive, canola, sweet almond.

for example you could make a message oil

using Sweet almond as the base oil and scent it with a few drops of essential oils( at the recommended usage rate).

Here is a site that lists uses for eo's

http://www.essentialoils.co.za/therapeutic-properties.htm

then you can check out a little reading on carrier oils
