barncat
Has anyone got their own and fixed them instead of buying a replacement from the manufacturer?

Judy, USMC
No, I ordered the part from the manufacturer...didnt want anymishaps...:/Ditto, I didn't want to take any chances with temperature variations. Also figured if I had problems and needed technical advice I could go back to the manufacturer.
clonefan80
I purchased an extra one when I bought my melter 6 years ago but have never had to replace it yet....reason: I use distilled water in my water jacketed melter which reduced mineral build up on the element.
