Dianeb
I'm wanting to add a 16oz to my line, anyone use the salsa jar ? Would like some suggestion on what wick works best for you in them?
Kaybee23
What is the diameter of the jar? I have heard of the jar, but have never used it before.
Dianeb
It's approx. 2 3/4". Looks like no one use them.
Kaybee23
I double wick my jars, so I can't give you good single wick instructions. I also don't know what wicks and what wax you are using. I use HTP wicks in my soy, and if it were me, and I were single wicking, I might try a HTP105 to start. Sorry I can't be of more help. Dianeb
I use KY pure soy with 1/2oz BW, I made a mistake on the dia, it's approx. 3", I had tried using a CD-22, it worked good until it burned half way down the jar, then I started getting hang-up, I continued to burn it the next couple of days. each time I burned it, I wasn't getting any mp, It still continued to have hang-up, it wasn't coming down. I tried using the htp-1212, it danced a whole lot, it would also shoot high peaks with black smoke, there were no drafts
Kaybee23
I am using 8 oz. 3" dia widemouth jars, but I am double wicking them. HTP73 and HTP83 seem to be working the best so far. This is a new jar for me, so I am still testing. I also tested the 8 oz. sq mason which holds the same amount, but I can tell you that even double HTP41 and HTP51 double were too much for them. So it seems to make a diff. in the widemouth and the ones with a more narrow neck. Good luck to you. You are just going to have to go about this the old fashioned way and pop some wicks in it, so you get an idea of where to start.
