Tanning Bed Lotion

I know winter is just about here, but I had a few family members ask me if I could make them some tanning bed lotion. I make body butter and lotions, but what do you need to add to the lotion for it to be considered a tanning lotion?

I don't know exactly what you would put into it, but I can tell you what NOT to put in it.

Do not use any variety of the following:

mineral oil

baby oil

petroletum

vasalineum (sp?)

Any of these or variation of these do two things:

1) They make the salon owner angry because all of these can ruin the acrylics in the tanning beds.

2) The tanner will not see the results that they are expecting because these ingredients especially mineral oil actually 'strip' away a tan.

You should also avoid phototoxic essential oils like lemon, lime, or orange EO's.

Hemp seed oil, aloe vera, and vitamin E are popular ingredients.
