bsalmon26
I agree that not keeping my SB submerged while blending is probably the culprit for "air" in my lotion. Now, I look at 2 bottles poured 2 days ago that were full and now they are about 2/3 full. Would the air, or fluffy lotion, be the reason for this, too?I have been mixing in a stainless steel bowl. does this sound o.k. or is there a better method for mixing water and oils? Thanks everyone. CareBear
it's best to keep all the posts on your topic in the same thread.yes - air could very well be the reason. I suggest experimenting with bowls of different depth and side slope if you are having difficulty getting the air out of the "bell" of the SB. cindym
IMO it is better to use a hand mixer or a stand mixer for lotions. You could also bang the bowl slightly on the counter and let it settle before putting in the bottle. Also bang the bottles as you fill them.
kidsngarden
I use a kitchenaid for lotions. And it makes a big difference in how full your bowl is compared to your mixing equipment. I like them at least half full.
