Jane42
I have just started testing pillars using Crystal Palm. After posting a question and researching the boards, I have seen people mention two things that will help me remove the pillar from the mold. One was a mold release additive, but I haven't had any luck locating it. The other was to use Palm Stearic Acid, but when I look it up on C&S, this is what they recommend it for:Stearic Acid (Triple pressed palm) Hardens wax for longer burn time. Use 3-6 TBSP. per lb. of paraffin wax. Also used to harden CP & HP soaps and a great thickener in lotions when used at 1-3%Will this work??Jane
Stella1952
I use triple-pressed palm stearic acid in all palm wax except Glass Glow (or equivalent). I do not use any other mold release, even in highly detailed "art" molds. We generally use 1 tablespoonful per pound of wax. HTH
Jane42
That does help, Stella! I wanted to double-check before I ordered it. I had such a hard time removing my first pillar and I am hoping that this will help with that process. I can't wait to get back to testing the palm pillars - they are gorgeous!!Thanks!Jane
