xixo
How do I make the swirly hills and valleys on tops of soaps in loaf molds? Also, if I want to have oatmeal sprinkles on top, when do I do it? Can I do both of these things with mp, cp and hp soaps? Thanks, guys~
Meridith
You get them by pouring at a thicker trace and finding something around the house to use to make the textured tops. I've seen someone use a a whisk before. I sometimes use wood sticks or my spatula. You are as limited as your imagination. You want to sprinkle the tops when the soap is still wet so whatever you are using will stick to the soap. Be careful though, a little will go a long way and its easy to use too much and end up with a soap that feels more like sand paper against the skin. When it comes to scrubbies in soap, less is more. There is a ton of information in old threads. I'd recommend you do some reading to see what you can find and learn. :smiley2:
dabbledoya
I use bamboo skewers for a little swirly effect. And I agree where a little additives go a long way. A couple weeks ago I made a 3# batch and only added 1/2 tsp of ground coriander, and it ended up being more of a mild exfoliation than just the interest that I wanted it.
