trisha Posted November 10, 2005 Share Posted November 10, 2005 I am so baffled. The very first candle I made a few weeks ago were great. I used 2lbs. Peaks performance blend with 2oz. Peaks Mandarin plum. Poured in 8oz tins. Used 51-32-18z wicks. The scent throw was great hot and cold. Now I poured the same wax 1oz per pound of FO Peaks Almond Paistry. There is hardly any hot throw. So I tried J-50 1oz of Peaks Clean Cotton per pound. This is even worse. There is no hot throw whatsoever. So I tried 44-32-18z wicks. No different. islandgirl Posted November 11, 2005 Share Posted November 11, 2005 It could be many things.. Did you add you FO at a different Temp? That sometimes effects the throw.Wicks also effect the throw.. So keep trying those too!!Certain FO"S have a great hot and or cold throw with certain waxes and some FO's will not throw at all in a certain kinds of wax. I test so many scents before I find one that has a excellent cold and hot throw that I find worthy to put on my candle line .
