SliverOfWax
Start at the beginning of this forum. Use the search feature for specific questions. You'll have to do your own testing. To ask such basic questions tells me you're at least a couple of years from starting a business.
debscent
How long have you been making candles?
Meridith
How long have you been making candles? It sounds like she has not even started since she is " new to the candle business idea." Some folks like to start with a starter kit. For that, find a supplier nearest you to save on shipping and go for it. The supplier should be able to answer questions for you and help you get started. Warning though, this is very addicting and very expensive. This is not a get rich quick thing so you won't make money right way. But you will have fun and will makes lots of cool stuff. It's a great creative outlet. Good luck!
SMcCurley
Hey guys thanks for all the replies. We have been making candles (fiance and me) for about three years but only as gifts. We are not expecting this to be something quick. We are just kind of playing with the idea. We assumed this would take a few years to get off the ground. We have researching out behinds off. And I've thought about starting a business for a while, so I figure I would look into this! We are really excited!Anyway gotta run. Thanks againSteph
botanica
A great place to start once you're confident that everything has tested well is the Small Business Assoc. Also, you can contact an organization called SCORE and find a mentor. Take some business classes through local organizations on marketing, bookkeeping, etc., and contact your state about licenses. Get insurance before you start selling, keep asking questions and doing your research. Good luck!
