My batch is very drying to my skin so I can not say what if anything it brought to the soap. But, my soap did seem to act O.K. as it went through its process and it is thick with lots of great, albeit drying lather. So it obviously did not affect that. I don't think it is drying to the skin because of the AVJ - I think I just made a screwed up batch of LS. I used the AVJ when I started to dilute my solution down after it had reached the vaseline stage. I used it around 20% sub for my water.
