mysticalsoaps
I just got a bunch of silk from a garage sale. How do i use this in soap. It wasn't what I thought it would be. I looks like some took yarn and balled it up kinda. do I just cut some and add it to the lye water? Its also red. I guess I was expecting white. No wonder why an oz was only 5.00!!Any thoughts/advice is appreciated
Scented
Pinch off some and stick it in your water, add the lye to it and that helps it dissolve. What doesn't dissolve, don't worry about it the stick blender will get the rest. Depending on your batch size, I'd say pinch off about a 25-cent piece worth or a nickel. I use about 1/2 to 1 inch. Michi
Did you use this yet? I'm anxious to hear how the "red" silk did in your soap? Did the color actually color your soap? I would think it would since it's obviously dyed silk.
