cactusladycandles
I aquired a lot of 2 7/8" tall x 2" diameter jelly jars. Smooth sides. I use igi4630 wax and zinc wicks. I tried a 44-24-18 wick and the flame was nice but the melt pool was almost all the way to the bottom. I then tried a 34-40z wick. It burned okay for awhile. Then about 1/3 the way down the jar, the flame got so small you could barely see it burning. Any suggestions?
coconut
CactusLady, you have to wick Waaayyy down with 4630. I did not really understand this until I recently started testing J223. I have worked with 4630 wax and a 4oz jelly jar for over a year now. I don't use zinc so you will have to use a chart to find the equivalent wick. Here are my starting point wicks for this wax: HTP 52, Peak's cotton c-30, LX8. For the cottons, this is the smallest size available. HTP has only one smaller size, 41, and I have used that also. HTH. Good Luck. Coconut.
