ahasoy
Hello! I had one of my soy jar candles burning yesterday, and noticed that there was black smoke coming up from the flame. What could be causing that? I trimmed the wick before burning. Thank you!
Stella1952
It is soot. All candle flames produce a certain amount of it. There are many causes of excessive sooting in candles - wax, additives, improper wicking, FOs, etc. You did not mention enough details (jar diameter, wick type/size, wax type, additives, FO, etc.) for anyone to determine what is causing the problem other than it's a product of cumbustion.
