Meg_10
Hi everyone,I have made few rustic last few days, and I'm not quite getting the look I'd like. I'm not sure if I used enough steric to lb of wax. I use 1343A wax, 3 Heaping TBS of Steric, no vybar (not sure if it would help)and pour at 150 Degrees, I got the digital thermo today to help reading temp better.Question is, If I put to much steric does it lessen the rustic look, or should it be more?I do not chill my molds or force cooling down.I could try the cold towel wrap around if it would help. Here's a picture, I have studied the forum related to Rustic for weeks and followed JudyVega's class tutorial. Can anyone help???Thanks Meg
Scented
3 heaping T per pound of oil? Or 3 heaps total and more than a pound of wax? Technically you could add more if you want more frost, but I'd start with throwing in only an extra heaping T to the whole batch and not per pound and go from there. Don't mess with the cool/cold towel just yet. Once you get the hang of this though it will be a relief.

Meredith_D
It doesn't look like you swirled the wax in the mold after pouring. Maybe that is the look you are thinking of?

Maybe that is the look you are thinking of?That was what my dear friend said, i have to much of "perfect" layers.Need to swish swoosh the mold after each pour. So I'll be doing that today.hopefully I'll get the look I am trying to achieve!!ThanksMeg
Scented
Well you can rock it back and forth. I've seen some pretty defined layers in rustics too, but give Meredith's suggestion a try first. What I meant about batch was adding 3 heaping T of steric per pound of wax and not 3 heaping T of steric to 2 or 3 pounds of wax.
