awickedscent
I had someone ask me for a candle that has about three wicks and I guess they use to use it in churches and it has numerals on the side to count down the day. Has anyone heard of this?
SatinDucky
Sounds like an Advent Candle. I ran a search for pictures but didn't come up with anything like you describe though. Maybe fill a tall mold around 3 tapers? Then hand paint numbers down the side?
candlesprite7
I don't about the 3-wicks but there are 7 day candles....maybe do a search for those?
Aria007
I know what you are talking about. I have seen them many, many times. I just wish I could remember what they are called!! (I had it on the tip of my tongue!)I have found a couple of sites that have something kind of like it. Here they are:http://waxwizard.freeservers.com/pop-birthday.htmlhttp://www.mailordershoppe.com/candles_07.htmhttp://www.dollardays.com/i91806-wholesale-set-of-2-christmas-countdown-candles.htmlhttp://www.collectionsetc.com/Item73010.aspxI hope this give you at least an idea of what she's looking for. I'm sorry I couldn't be more of a help.
SatinDucky
Here's one.. but with just one wick. I forgot to add countdown in the search the first time...lolhttp://www.rathernice.co.uk/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=

I know that there is one that is used in church, to countdown the church year too. That's why there's three wicks to it. It's a big, fat pillar with three wicks and numbers on it. I was trying to search for that one too, but I couldn't find it. SatinDucky, you found a much better example then mine. I tried to find an Advent countdown but all I kept coming up with is the wreaths and tapers.
Rebecca
I've seen those done as anniversary and birthday candles too. When I was born my parents had one for me (and my sister). I think it went to like age 21...no idea what ever happened to it but for awhile we would lite it for my birthdays.
