mwalls
I plan to attempt my first candle making this weekend. I will be doing soy wax in mason jars. I have read many, many posts on this site including the archives. I believe that I once saw a post that gave a calculation of water to wax. For example, I would fill the mason jar with water, weigh it to determine the weight of the water, and from that could calculate the weight of wax to melt. I cannot now refind that post. Has anyone else seen the post or are familiar with the calculation? Thanks,Matt
sassy906
Hi Matt at the left of the screen you will see General Information click on it and the calculator. I think that is what you are looking for
topofmurrayhill
You can use the calculator if you like, as sassy suggested. The ratio is roughly wax = .86 x water. For soy it might be closer to .9 x water.
