ChrisR Posted October 28, 2007 Share Posted October 28, 2007 Priming any wick is really a matter of preference......I personally don't and have no problems lighting the wicks. My molded beeswax tapers use a 2/0 square braid wick, so that may be a good place for you to start. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

celicagtca Posted October 28, 2007 Author Share Posted October 28, 2007 Ok, tried the 4/0 first to be safe and the stinking thing still pooled over the edge. No draft or breeze happening. What I did notice with the 4/0 square cotton wicking was a slight bend to the tip of the burning wick. Do you think I should try a #1 cotton? I rolled these up pretty tight also. ChrisR Posted October 29, 2007 Share Posted October 29, 2007 The reason it pooled and spilled over the side is because the wick is too small and not consuming the wax fast enough. Try the 2/0 first....I get a good no drip beeswax taper with it, whereas the 3/0 and 4/0 dripped like crazy. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
