Rolled Beeswax Candles

Recommended Posts

Priming any wick is really a matter of preference......I personally don't and have no problems lighting the wicks. My molded beeswax tapers use a 2/0 square braid wick, so that may be a good place for you to start. :cool2:

Ok, tried the 4/0 first to be safe and the stinking thing still pooled over the edge. No draft or breeze happening. What I did notice with the 4/0 square cotton wicking was a slight bend to the tip of the burning wick. Do you think I should try a #1 cotton? I rolled these up pretty tight also.

The reason it pooled and spilled over the side is because the wick is too small and not consuming the wax fast enough. Try the 2/0 first....I get a good no drip beeswax taper with it, whereas the 3/0 and 4/0 dripped like crazy. :cool2:
