Main Recipe?

How many recipes do you generally use in your line of soap. Do you just use a basic recipe and then just change the additives and FO/EO's or do you actually use several different OIL recipes?

Over the years I've developed a base recipe that I vary a bit. I may use different butters and always have a 10-15% of something, like avocado, safflower, peach kernel, etc but I stick to the main recipe. The percentages may vary a bit too but I use the same base oils. Not very exciting, but I found something that totally works for me.

RIght now I have 2 that I am quite happy with! One is for my scented soaps and the other is for my goats milk soaps. I guess I do have another that is for my kitchen soaps which includes Palm.

I have a couple different recipes depending on the type of soap I am making. For my "every" day bars, I have a recipe I developed that I pretty much stick to but will sub out an occassional butter or oil for another if I am out of that particular oil or butter but the base is the same as are the percentages I use.

I've got my basic recipe and a couple of different ones that have one extra oil in them. Otherwise I just change additives - clay, silk, liquid type, herbs, powders.

I have my lard soaps and my veggie soaps....that is about it. I may mix up the additives or an oil or two but they remain pretty constant.
