RobinInOR
and was looking up the old wax I used to use, Cleanwax. This link should show you http://tinyurl.com/bct642 different patents. The details are kind of interesting - how soot is related to the saturation of triglycerides and free fatty acids. Anyhow, for the chemically inclined, thought this would be fun to read through. And yes, Cleanwax burned extremely clean, and the flame was always controllable. I'd probably still be using it if they hadn't had manufacturing problems.
Jeannie
Robin, I loved the clean wax when I tested it a couple years ago. I went ahead and bought a couple cases and it had a bad odor? I couldn't stand it, it was an awful crayon/chemical smell. I ended up getting my money back thank goodness they did that. What a shame they couldn't work that out, it was a great wax before something went wrong....Weird!
RobinInOR
That's exactly when I stopped using it. Boy that stuff stunk, didn't it. :undecided I had 300 pounds of stink - but they were very good about refunding. I still have 30 good pounds here, I use it if I'm making a pillar that I haven't tested in Calwax.
