3bees~1flower
as the title says...what is the general cause of sooting (around the top of the jar)? *if* i get any, it's when the candle (100% soy) has about 2" left or so....is it a wick issue or a wax issue? Meridith
Too much fotoo large of a wickcandle in a draftthe deeper the container, the more likely to get soot since the wick won't be able to get as much oxygen.
3bees~1flower
thanks for you response.if too much fo or too large of wick may be the cause, why does it not soot the whole time the candle has been burned? why just towards the bottom? Vicky_CO
Because that is where the air flow is the most restricted your flame is not getting enough oxygen, one way to tell if the air flow is restricted you will have the dancing flame, the flame tries to follow what oxygen is there.
