Candle Kitty
Quick question. I got some octagon votive molds today (these things are just TOO CUTE and the candles are ADORABLE) and when I went to plop one in a votive holder, all of mine are too small.Has anyone been able to find 2 inch dia. votive holders? I've been looking and can't find them anywhere.HELP! :embarasse
BrandNewToCandles
I burn mine in a waverly votive holder, 97 cents from WalMart. It's fluted and the votives don't fit tight like the standard 2 oz ones, but they're very pretty. It's the one on the right. debscent
I love these too, but run into the same problem. The type I use is the roly poly type votive cup.
Candle Kitty
Thanks ladies, I actually thought about the roly poly's after I posted and then realized I don't have any!
Everito Bandito
Michaels craft stores has a fairly wide variety of votive holders. They likely have several that would fit.
RobinInOR
Octagonal votives were the only ones I did. The roly poly, and the 'hurricane' that bulges at the bottom, then constricts and flares at the top, also fit.Octagonals also burn a bit differently since you can't get a tight fitting mold. On mine, after an hour, the melt pool "breaks through" the edge and the holder fills up. Eventually your melt pool is like a little container, and the wick has to support that wider size. I usually started testing with a wick that was a size bigger than a standard votive.
Candle Kitty
Thanks for the tips, Robin, so far they seem to be doing good, I found a couple of votive holders I forgot about that gives them a decent fit, but I've got a roly poly I'm testing tonight.
