SatinDucky
I've tried this just once. It was a newly opened rose. It held up nicely for 3-4 weeks before the neck of the stem finally gave way and bowed it's head Wait, I did try twice. The tulips didn't work at all. The weight of the wax was too much for the large sparse petals :embarasse
Stella1952
Buds will work okay, but finer-petaled flowers (like daisies, etc.) will just droop in a glob. Little flowers like statice and baby's breath work out okay also. It not only depends on how stout the stem is to hold up the extra weight, some flowers and leaves COOK when they are dipped and lose all their rigidity. I have a small collection of flower and leaf blobs...:rolleyes2
doris
Couldn't you insert a thin metal wire into the stem to help support the weight? I used to dry flowers with silica gel, and the stem always gave out, and needed to be replaced with a wire.
Stella1952
Why not try it and see? The biggest problem I had was the "cooked" petals...
