littysmom
Ok, I have been using a variety of ways to make LYE soap. I have been having this problem from day one. When I add my scent to my soap it smells like there is enough scent, but after it cures the scent is minimal. Can you tell me which scent suppliers are best to use for making lye soap? I have been using 1 oz pp. Thanks, Lisa
eugenia
Some scents will fade in CP. I've had great success with FO's from many different suppliers. I typically use .75 oz per lb of oils. Remember that the scent will "wake up" in the shower. You can check here for CP results before soaping; it's a very helpful site! http://scentreviewboard.obisoap.ca/index.phpe
mystical_angel1219
I don't think the soaping temperatures, unless they are very hot, have anything to do with how they stick in CP. I usually can't do double duty on my soaping oils, (candles & soap) because they usually don't have favorable soaping notes on the boards. E gave a good link, and we have one here:http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6052If you want to test a few fragrances, get a mold that makes individual bars (like a Tony's mold) and pour enough for one or two soaps for each fragrance in a large dixie cup. That way you can test multiple scents without using a ton of supplies.
sudsy
If you are adding fragrance when your soap is still VERY hot it certainly can mess with your scent. (ask me how I know!)My favorite tried and true supplier is Daystar.
