Jadryga
This is a site with an excellent explanation of all that you are asking http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/what_is_virgin_coconut_oil.htm
Ruina
Thanks Jadryga.I did come across this site in my research when I googled co. Basically I wanted to confirm that the ev co from soaper's choice should be calculated as the 76 deg in soapcalc. It's confusing because they (soaper's choice) have the 76 deg as a separate oil. Maybe those are the refined ones?
topofmurrayhill
Basically I wanted to confirm that the ev co from soaper's choice should be calculated as the 76 deg in soapcalc. You should be fine using Soapcalc, at least as far as the SAP value is concerned. It doesn't distinguish between 76 and 92 degree CO, which it probably should, but it uses a SAP value spot on to what Soaper's Choice lists for virgin (and 92 degree) coconut oil. The SC SAP value list is here http://www.soaperschoice.com/vegetableoils/price_list.html.
Ruina
Thanks topofmurrayhill. Wow, missed that on the site. Hey, I'm also from NY. Didn't think to find NY people soaping. Cool!
