gw 415 or 444??

Recommended Posts

hi all,

new to the board, i have not made candles in awhile and need advice.

making container candles, have used variety of soys but the ones that

are closest to me are gw 415 & gw 444. is one better than the other?

i have used the search and found alot on the 415 but the 444 was a

little confusing with the old & new batch threads. i'm looking to compare

hot/cold throw and wicking. thank you!:D

Welcome back to candlemaking! We like noobs.

The 415 and 444 are very similar, but the 444 has Universal Soy Additive preblended into it. If you like doing things easy, then I would choose the 444. If you like to experiment and create your own proprietary blend, then 415 is what you want. You can mix the 415 with beeswax, or USA, or paraffin, or other soy waxes.

Good luck! geek

Can I ask where you found the gw 415 & 444? The closest to me is Glorybee and they weren't carrying it the last time I checked.

And btw welcome to the board.:yay:

I live in Oregon outside of Sandy , out in the boondocks. I will see what I can do about sending you some of our rain. :laugh2:

I wish that I lived in Idaho. It is so beautiful there!
