MoonShadow
Has anyone had their products professionally photographed for their website? I am considering doing this, but would like some insight or hear about experiences from others who have done it, and maybe a ballpark $$ amount I could expect to pay. Thanks! StephD
This is where I'm lucky, when I get to the point I need a website. My boyfriend does awesome with photography. I would hate to see what it would cost for photos for a website through a professional. Could you possibly do them yourself? I don't know much about digital cameras or anything, so I don't think I could do mine myself. I actually took photos with our old digital camera and then stood staring at the computer and the camera trying to figure out how in the heck to get it from one to the other! lol Stephanie
MoonShadow
I have a digital camera, but the pics I take look crappy (to me, at least) compared to the rest of the site. All the pics on my site came from a CD of images I bought...for the fragrances, etc...so I have no real pics of my candles on the site...just generic candle pics.I think it has more to do with lighting than anything. StephD
Oh, I see. I know nothing about lighting. Where are you at? If your near me, I could probably get him to do the pics, but he won't have his new camera until next month. Also, check with your local school. Our junior high and high school have photography classes. Maybe you could get a student to do the pics for you. Also, check the local college. Good pics and probably cheaper than hiring a professional.Stephanie
MoonShadow
Thanks Steph! I'm in Florida...way far away from Ill. :undecidedBut that's a GREAT idea about the local colleges! Thanks!
StephD
Hey, no problem! I just see no sense in paying a fortune for a professional. My daughter's grade school (junior high part) has photography and some of those kids take amazing pics!Stephanie
Sherl
My local print shop does photgraphing for catalogs.. they charge $40 and hour. That seems like a lot but when you think everything is setup and they just change out the products, you can get a lot done in an hour. They seem reasonable. I got pics I'm happy with for now with my digital. Searched the net for info on photographing, built a light tent, borrowed [stole] husbands shop lights and learned about white balance then started shooting. Someday hope to have enough money to have some one else do that kind of stuff. Still have more photos to take to finish site.
