Candle Makin Momma
What wax do you use for pillars? I want to stay in the veggies. I tried Ecowax and it doesn't make a good pillar. It blows out.So what kind of wax do you use and what type of wicking? I am a pretabbed wick chick, so the spooled has me confused.
funnygirl
What ECO wax did you try? I use the ecosoya PB and do just fine. Blowouts are usually caused by too big of a wick or too long burn times. Look and see how long it is taking you to get a blowout, and wick down accordingly. As far as wicking, if you use wick pins in your mold, you can use the tabbed wicks with no problem. HTH!
Candle Makin Momma
It was just called Ecowax PB I believe. I used Eco wicks in it. I used anyhwere from an 8 up to a 14 and each one blew out. Like the wax just wasn't hard enough.
Candle Makin Momma
Doesn't anyone use Veggie waxes for pillars?
silverm00n
I've been testing palm wax for a little while, and so far I like to use the LX's. I used to be a huge fan of the ECO wicks, but based on my peronal testing and results, they only worked well for me in jj's. Any other application and the flame was either real weak or they would blow out. Haven't tried them in pillars though. ~HTH
tamsoycandles
I just got some Ecosoya PB to do some pillar tests. I'll keep you posted on my results. I am going to make a few 3x3 pillars and test wicks. I want to wait a couple days before my burn...I am starting tests with the HTP 1212. Still deciding on what size ECO and LX to try.Tony
stacien
Millcreek has a really nice pillar vege wax. I use it. It is so easy to pour and it throws pretty well. It has a very smooth texture and no frosting what so ever. They won't tell you what is made of but they swear its all botanical.
Candle Makin Momma
I got some ecosoya PB too. I swear what I was using before was Ecowax from BC. That is was actually called ECO wax, but I couldn't find it, so I must've been wrong.
