izzy2
I had some swingin eggnog FO from Peaks and didn't find the hot throw very strong (in 4786 wax) and someone had said maybe it wasn't mixed enough. How long do you stir the FO for? I always heat the wax to the pouring temp, add FO, stir for a little bit (30 secs - 45 secs) and then pour. Should I heat to pouring temp, add FO, stir for a certain amt of time and pour or should I heat to a higher temp, add FO and stir until it reaches pouring temp? I'm just worried about burning off the FO. TIA

I add the FO at 180, stir for at least 2 full minutes, cool to pour temp and pour.
candlesprite7
I have been adding my FO before I put my dye in the pot, as you are stirring the fo you can tell when it combines with the wax...you dont see the beads of FO floating around...witht he heavier Fo's it does take a couple of minutes. When I get it mixed I add my dye and everything is fine. Seems to work better that way.
