Lauchie
Yes!!! It is suppose to may it easier to start the fires plus make it smell good. It burns hot enough that it completely burns the wax so there is nothing left in the fireplace. Hope that helps.
smart tart
I don't know about the smell good part (It burns off so fast I have never smelled anything ....) but it works perfectly for me. I use cup cake liners and just pour old wax into them and use to start my fireplace. Used them last year and have now given away tons to friends. If you are using the pinecones and making them fancy, they will have a good cold throw probably. I don't do anything quite so fancy....just want an easy way to start the fire! jenniejr
I have been making them and using them for 2 years now and they are awesome in the fireplace!! I agree w/ Lauchie: it does smell good! Granted, the scent doesn't last long due to the quick burn; but when you 1st start it .... it smells wonderful!
Sally
One of mine gets the fire going wonderfully well straight away.I only use scrap wax so they don't really have a fragrance & I put cheap, coloured pot pourri on the top so If anyone wants to leave them on display they look quite pretty.Sally.
