Would Like Your Opinions on Restocking

I have some free-standing shelving that I usually carry to shows to display my jelly jars, but it's very heavy and a bit difficult to put together. So at last weekend's show, since DH was working and couldn't help DD and me set up, I decided to use risers on a table instead. I only put one or two of each fragrance out on the risers but took lots more and whenever there was a lull, I restocked the risers.

I began to wonder toward the end of the show if that was a good idea or not because with my full display, it looked like I hadn't sold anything. Just curious about your opinions on whether it's better to keep fully stocked or not.

By the way, this was absolutly the worst show I've done, but it did help my feelings that it wasn't just me! There was just very poor turnout and nobody sold much--so I had plenty of time to keep my booth restocked!! I paid $70 plus 10% of sales for this booth and sold $211--so I figure by the time I subtract the cost of goods sold and meals for DD and me, I MAY have broken even!

But I did get a call last night from one woman who bought a gift basket and 2 other candles, telling me she was working on her list to order because she was so impressed with my products--so maybe it will be worth it in contacts made.

Sorry about the turnout. From everything I've seen and heard, this year has been a pretty bad year for a lot of shows. Even the "big ones" that are held every year in my area have seen a serious downturn in attendance.

I think it's better to keep your booth stocked. I personally don't usually stop at a booth that looks empty.
