TexasBrat
When is the best time to add this to a batch of soap?
Meridith
I made a batch once with it and what I did was take off a bit of soap at light trace and blend some of the kelp with that soap and then incorporated it back in with the main batch at a slightly thicker trace. It worked for me.

swamp_deb
I make a swirl with mine, leave the rest of the soap natural.
Sherie
I've been thinking about Kelp Powder. What benefits does adding Kelp powder add to a bar of soap. Keep us posted Angelique on how your soap turns out. I can't wait to hear.
lindsaycb
The one time I tried kelp...it really really STUNK. I'm guessing I used way too much though. This is what I found on it Sea Kelp Soap - 2 tablespoons of Sea Kelp. Sea Kelp is vitamin and mineral rich. It contains iodine, iron, sodium, calcium, potassium, Vitamins A, B1, B2, C, D and E. Sea Kelp is classified as a brown algae. Depending on how fond you are of the smell of sea weed you might want to add Peppermint or Eucalyptus essential oil.
Meridith
Yeppers it definately has a fishy smell to it. I think it adds some lable appeal as well.
Shisha
I loved the *idea* of sea kelp (I love sushi, seaweed, kombu, etc.) but the actual soap with sea kelp wasn't very popular. Hardly anyone wants to smell fish in the shower....I wished it smelled more like an ocean scent on a GOOD day than my ocean on a BAD day.
