SDM
Just wondering if anyone uses the plastic 6-pk votive mold. How does this compare to making votives with the metal votive molds/wick pins? Are votives easier to make with the plastic mold or doesn't it matter? Do you think votives turn out nicer with the plastic mold vs. the metal (I know, it's going to depend on the maker and how experienced you are, etc.....)? I currently use the metal molds and was thinking about trying this, but had no clue what they were like or how they worked. Any opinions or advice out there? Thanks for your help!Susan
Steph in tx
I've never used the plastic 6 pack that you speak of. I used to make all my votives in the 3oz Dixie Cups. I would use my same container wax w/additives, and make my wick holes after they cure, slap the wick in, place in new Dixie cup, then put in bag and hang on peg board. PamR
The metal molds make a much nicer votive. I still use the plastic votive molds for my fairy cakes, but they are dipped after unmolding. I wouldn't bother with the plastic for regular votives. Pam R
