ruba
Okay guys and gals...I am going to ask a question that you may find lame...but I have searched and can't find anything else. What are "light oils". In all sorts of recipes I see "light oil of your choice" and have seen the following ones listed...is there a place here (or elsewhere on the web) with all of them listed, if not what makes an oil a "light oil"?? Is there any on the following list that are not!!??Sweet Almond OilRice Bran OilApricot Kernal OilAvocado OilCamelina OilMacademia Nut OilSoy OilFrac. Coconut OilGrapeseed OilTIA. RobinInOR
Light and heavy have to do with how quickly they sink into your skin. At least that's the way I think of the terms. I'd call avocado a heavy oil, it feels really rich to me. Almond and Apricot Kernal I think of as light. Everyone will have their own definitions, though, you'll see a lot of different lists on the web.
xava
I agree with Robin on the avocado. I think of it as a heavier oil. I personally would say rice bran and soy are borderline... all the others you have listed I would consider light oils.
ruba
Thanks RobinInOR and xava!! I really appreciate the info. I did tons of searches and those were listed somewhere in threads as light so I will strike the Avocado from my memory as a "light" oil. I love this place and all the helpful people here. Thanks for letting me hang out with you and learn from you!!
