Reed FOE ?

I just made up my 1st tester using C&S FOE and Peaks Amish Harvest. Got an awesome scent throw in just a couple of hours but have a question. The FOE and FO separated in my little bottle. Since I used a clear bottle it is obvious the 2 have separated. I shook the mixture several times and it separated every time. Is this normal or have I screwed something up?
