Corence
I have 2 metal molds and they have spots on the inside which appear on the candle after I unmold them. I have tried using wd-40 and it doesnt work. Anyone know what caused it and how to get rid of them? I always clean my molds after I use them by heating them with the heat gun and wiping them out real good. Thnx
geekrunner
That is probably sufficient, but what I use for pillar molds, and my pour pots, is the mold cleaner from Michael's. It is about $9 for an 8 oz bottle, but it does clean pretty well, and you use it sparingly. It cuts through paraffin well, and has a nice citrusy smell But more than likely heat gun and wipe out will do the job too geek

BruceCarvesWax
Just wondering what kind of spots you are talking about? I have seen rust spots in my molds and they sure can leave a mark on the candles. Bruce
Corence
These look to be white spots. I have tried heating the mold and wiping, but it stays. I tried using wd-40 with no success. I almost bought the mold cleaner at Michaels, but I didn't want to waste my money.
