von691
Has anyone made candles in wide mouth wine glasses? I use j-50 and zinc wicks and was hoping for some input on a starting point for testing wicks? Since wine glasses are thinner should I use a smaller wick so as to not cause them to shatter? any and all help would be appreciated:wink2: Thanks, Yvonne
AngelaVA
How wide is the mouth of the glass (in inches). The diameter of a jar is a good starting place for determining wick size. Also, try doing a search on here, since this may have come up before. I've never filled wine glasses before, so hopefully someone else will chime in too
sharyl55
The wine glasses I use are 2.75" in diameter. I use a 51z, CD12 or low smoke 21z with J223. HTH
butterfinger
My wine glasses are almost 3", with J223 I use 51z; with J50 I use 44z.
von691
Thank You very much! That was what I wanted to know , was afraid they might shatter if I started to big. I will start with the 44z first. Thanks again for your input:D
LauraInNY
I would also consider using the wick tabs with the longer necks so that it doesn't get too hot at the bottom of the wine glass. Just my 2 cents...
