fayeboe
This is my first post, and I need a some help. I made my first ball candle last night, I am basically happy with it but, there was a rib around the center of it, where the mold fits together. Did I do something wrong when I put the thing together? Is there a way of doing it with out the rib? Help.faye
Margaritamama
I make ball candles, and unfortunately there is no way to avoid getting the rib along the middle. How I "clean" it up, is to take a knife and shave as much of the excess wax off as I can, then heat the knife, and slide it gently over the seam. It melts the excess wax, and for the most part, removes the seam. Hope that helps.........
fiftycupsofcoffee
I know that you can use a pair of nylons to "shine" or remove scratches from your candles. Just "buff" the candle with the nylon. HTH, Connie
fayeboe
Thank you both for the info. LOL I did take a knife and "shave" the rib off of the ball, but never thought to heat the knife and blend it. I will try that tonight. and I will also keep the nylon idea handy. You have both been a help.
