StoneCottageSoapworksInc
Creating scent formulas is one of my favorite hobbies. I go through spells where I create one after another then don't create any for weeks or months. Charts like this are nice to have but it is also good to go to sites like Fragrantica and Basenotes and start looking through the thousands of scent listings there. You become more familiar with all the types of notes from Top to Middle to Bottom notes and see what they blend well with. The more you work with the scents in creating your products the more familiar you can become with each component and learn how to use it. I have a file of scents I have created that now total 6,654 scents. I am very proud of all of the scents I have created but I'm not sure I'll ever get to make them all however, I always have them to fall back on when I want to create a new scent for a product! Gina Maylone
Does anyone have any tips as to how much to start with? Ratios? So if I want to mix Lime with Vetiver, should I start with one drop of each? And then do I need a base or something too? Thanks in advance for your advice! ~PEACE~
