gone country
Hi everyone I need some advise...I have a permanent booth at a local fleamarket. Ive been there for quite awhile and have many dedicated customers. Sat I had this lady come and she was new. She was raving about my products and following on my facebook page. Well she started picking out a bunch of scents (clamshells and tubs) over $90 worth. Let me tell you I was ecstatic. Anyway she revealed she was a Scentsy rep and candles were her life and even asked me if I would consider going into business with her if she would invest and I would teach her how to make candles and melts. I politely said I would keep it in mind but wasn't ready to venture into that kind of ordeal. She left on great terms. Now let me just talk about my melts. I have super strong melts and 5 testers. If they say they are GREAT I sell them. 2 of my testers are ex-scentsy die hards and the other 3 are people that are very much into candles. My house is 3000 sq feet. 1500 on first floor and 1500 on 2nd. When I test my melts they have to do downstairs to my stairs which is across the house from melter.Anyway, tonight I get a facebook message that she can't smell any of my melts. Not even if she stands on top of them. I offered her a refund and asked her to please bring me the partial ones so that i can test them myself....Ive been doing this since 2006 and only had one complaint. It was a candle not melts. This is eating at me because I have never had this kind of thing happen and not sure how to feel. She proceeded to tell me she thought it was just her nose so she put in Scentsy and she could smell it immediately. Now I will tell you I put in 1.5 or higher of scent per pound and all of my scents are super strong and 5 testers test them. Im kind of feeling like she realized as a Rep for Scentsy she realized she could get them cheaper...I don't know. Please give me advise. Vicky_CO
You have handled it well. I think she may just be testing you out. I would not worry about her.
marcuset
Agreed. You handled it beautifully. Been there, done that. Don't let it eat you up! Congrats to you, btw.
gone country
Thank you so much. In the future I will have posted no cash or credit card refunds exchange for like product only ex: clamshells for clamshells, tubs for tubs etc. No refunds on partial products. This way I feel its a fair return policy and thats is how many of the retailers do it. Thank you again. I have read this board since before I ever made products (2006) and each and every one of you have taught me valuable lessons.
SliverOfWax
She sounds like the typical Scentsy rep. Rude, crude, in-you-face. I think that's how Scentsy trains them. Scentsy reps were probably perfectly decent people until Scentsy got hold of them.
Dolphin146
You handled it beautifully. Either she is testing you out or she was tring to figure out how you make them. Next time I would not give her a refund on items she already used.
