chappyk
I am new ( and I mean day old new to candle making ) but am in search of a recipe for a soy/beeswax blend. I have heard of this type and am interested in playing with it. I know that I will have to play with my own creation to get it right but was wondering if someone knew of a basic recipe to guide me. Also if anyone has made similar and if they liked them?
rjdaines
All depends on the soy wax, some like 464 state that it does not mix well with beeswax. Beeswax can make the candle brittle which leads to cracking. Beeswax is also fairly expensive, why do you want to add it?
chappyk
I saw a video on youtube. A company called Danielle and Company adds Beeswax to their formula. I have read something about it helping the scent throw. I had ordered a bar of beeswax here in Canada from wixandwax.com thinking I might try it, but I will also be using the EcoSoya CB-Xcel wax. This may not even need the beeswax or may even do more damage to the final product.
Beth
I would try straight soy before using any additives.
