  1. Happy New Year!!!! 🎊🎆

its been awhile since I posted but I’m still at it. I have a new assignment a friend of mine would like me to launch a candle line for her business. I am very excited about, her business is geared toward marriages. So she gave me a few scents that “google” named as romantic scents. I am having a very  hard time with white pepper and spicy scent. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ginger, pepper, what else would be. Good blend... I cant 🤔

  2. I'm not sure who I should contact. I purchased a scent called Ginger CucumberMelon several years ago out the classifieds section... I do not know the name of the supplier. I have about an ounce left. Who can I contact to duplicate this for me? Or am I out of luck.... Help me please

  3. ok ive been using eco soya PB and excel mix for 4yrs now and i think I want more.. Im not sure why i want to torture myself but im noticing something that i do not like. after about 6months my calmshells smell like wax.. like i can smell the scent but the waxy smell is there. i rotate my scents based on seasons and there are some thats left over that I store. now tell me is this normal and its been happening and maybe I just noticed it.

My shop is pretty cool (55-60 year round) i run a fan in the room to circulate the air on candle making days.

I tested my wax and containers many times and the results were consistent. I poured 6 candles from the same pot, 3 i set on the bench to cool slowly. The other 3 i set near a fan. The three near the fan cooled shiny, hard. The three slow cooled candles were grainy and dull. Every time. Cooling my candles on a wire rack where air circulates all around cools them even quicker.

Caveat: i do not use glass often, and don't care one bit about wet spots. My candle customers don't care about wet spots either. The quick cool may well result in wet spots.

Caveat 2: i always poke around the wick for caverns. No matter what method i have tried i found holes around the wick enough times to just poke and fill.

Caveat 3: like trappeur, i often use colored bits on top of the candle. I push them into the wax when it develops a skin, but is still mushy forces out any air pockets that may be developing. Bonus that it means i don't need perfectly level tops. Colored bits draw my magpie customers like a tractor beam.

Note on beeswax, a quick cool as i poke relief holes around the warm wick in front of a fan when using aluminum molds gives the best release. I always have to fill beeswax because of the high shrinkage rate of the wax itself. When no relief holes i have found beastly caverns.

    TT whats colored bits?

These are the scents that I tried so far:

All Good Things - Not sure about this one. The quality is good, but to earthy for me.

    Ancient Incense - LOVE

Black Pearl - Love, a very different lavender

Forest Nymph - great pine scent and unisex. I wonder if this could be an all year scent?

Goddess - OMGosh this is the most azaming scent. LOVE, LOVE and LOVE

Bella - Again LOVE, LOVE and Love

Golden Sands - I really like this, but it doesn't remind me of beach or water. It is a sweet innocent scent

Imogen Rose - This is a nice lovely, unique rose with a greenness to it.

Karma - is AMAZING and Wonderful

Serendipity - is Delicious. I got this from another source and it was weak. FB's is strong and amazing

Suede and Lace is perfection and great for both mean and women

Sugar Cookie Royale - Is the best sugar cookie out there

Tea and Cakes - Is my Favorite scent ever!!!!!!

I am off to place another order. I will keep you guys posted

I have tried FB and I must say I love there oils I love ancient incense Suede and Leather is really good also... Sugar cookie Royale is great I've only tried one other and that was Aztec. Now I got strawberries and cream from FB and it didn't do well at all in my combination.. I'm testing black cedar wood and juniper from FB I must say its not bad.

Your customer has purchased a lot of this same scent? I want to make sure that is right.

My eyes burn when ever I sensitive to a scent. I am talking board line allergic. It could very well be she is becoming sensitive to that scent.

Yes the only scent she will buy from me. This time she purchased 3 jars and she said only one jar made her eyes burn. It's burned down half way

  8. Ok I need help. I have this customer that has purchased candles from me for a few years.

Today she bought her candle to me and it was half burned. She told me the candle is burning her eyes, I'm not sure what that has to do with me. But I told her I will take it and burn the rest and also do some research. Now I'm not sure she's purchased many many candles the same scent from me. I asked if any of the others made her eyes burn, she said no. So let's start

the jar is the 12 oz Libbey Square(from dollar tree)

    wax: 6006 excel mix

    wick: 62

fo .08 melon Jasmine from NG

please help I will continue to research but I'm not sure none out of that batch only this one candle
