Hubby bought me a heat gun off the snap on truck when he was towing but you can get them anywhere I believe peak candle sells heat guns if I remember correctly or you can buy one just about anywhere. Or just use a hairdryer but I find they take to long and they blow so hard and don't heat fast enough that I have wax flying everywhere. Sorry I'm no help with your wax I've never used it

I have no clue but a lady from nyc who sells soap was here in pa at our fall fest and her stuff was nothing to brag about I'm not a soap maker but had bought two things of soap and definatly was not what I was anticipating. Just had to share lol you'll have one less competitor.

Well I wouldn't be afraid of water unless.there was an obvious sign you had water I know my one pouring pot had eaten a hole in itself and I didn't notice it never crackled while melting but when I poured it and it set I had what looked like fo seepage but it was water

It is logical I get it to with 464 when I make big batches once it starts melting you do get little pockets from the wax coming together if that makes sense. Did you finish melting your batch?

Thank you for your advice I'm looking into presto pots now my next investment its weird I just didn't have that problem with other wicks but I do now. I wouldn't say a jj scents my whole house just the dining room and upstairs which is what struck me normally with the ecos I can smell the candle throughout the downstairs but not upstairs which is realistic because at my old house it scent up my kitchen dining room and living room and that was one floor so I guess I'm still achieving three rooms which is good

Thank you for that I really didn't have any idea or thought about it. I've always used the double boiler method and its becoming quite the pita. I have read about presto pots but have never really looked into to them or taken the time to find where to get one. Guess ill have to test a little more thoroughly from now on.to find out what the problem is. What are your thoughts about how my candles are throwing is that an air flow problem?

Yes proper length is 1/4 and of course I cut it before every burn. I take all the proper steps in my testing. I have not used cd 10's in this jar before I have used them in the apothecary jars and I had flickering in them as well with the cds. Idk if it could be that there three years old as well but I couldn't see a wick going bad. The flickering is on and off every few mins and then returns to being steady. I do not place my jars by fans, vents, or drafts so that is completely ruled out. Another problem is I moved from a one floor ranch and when I burned my candles I could smell them in the living room, hallway, kitchen, and dinning room. I now live in a two floor house and when I burn my candles in the living room I can only smell them going into the dining room, up the stairs, and on the second floor. Exactly why I decided to try the cds again because I thought maybe the ecos weren't throwing properly but could it be the way the air moves in my home I'm really getting thrown off since I moved here.

I'm trying it with the Pomegrante cider and I always keep the wick trimmed to proper length I don't have flickering with the ecos but I do with the cd 10 now so odd we have reverse reactions weird

I just tryed the cd 10 in a 8 oz jj and I'm getting flickering everything else is ok but definatly have some flickering of the flame did you experience that

2ounces of fo that is quite a bit overboard I would say. Back to the ugly tops it could be because of the temp of the room and how fast there cooling when your pouring warmer I always pour at 110 hotter pours for me usually lead to craters or sinkholes. I place my candles in the oven to cool as well.

Hi whisper girl just want to say I think your candles are lovely. when I was reading your front page I noticed you had one tiny little spelling error second paragraph first sentence I think your intentions were to say infused through out the candle but you forgot the r in through I just wanted to point it out to you no harm easy mistake. but again I think your candles look beautiful !

I've seen other threads share there concern on this but I myself stick to what I do and so have others so just add your fo at your normal temp the fp changes once the fo is added anyways and I personally never had a problem adding there fos that say this at 175

You don't need a fmp on the first burn sometimes not even the second as long as it eventually catches up I would be more concerned about the middle of the jar that's when things start to go wrong
