This is cold process soap. How much clay do you use or what is the ratio of clay to oils?

Hi all! So I have been making batches of soap using Peppermint and TeaTree EO's and the soap just doesn't seem to hold the distinct scent like it should. I tried using carrier oil's such as Almond and Avocado oil which helped but still over time the bars lost their scent on the outside. I still have some sample bars of the same recipe (tea tree and peppermint) from a manufacturer that are about 8 months old and when I pick up the bars to smell them they still have a wonderful scent to them! Once I start using my bars in the shower the scent opens up but when I hand someone a bar of soap I want them to be able to smell it and experience the same scent without having to use it! Any suggestions or insight on why this is happening....

Hi all, I am looking at making a mens shaving soap bar.... Has anyone made a shaving bar before....if so what are some good recipes to start with? Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback... I have read mixed reviews about the For Crafts Sake "Little Shaver".... some people love it and others say it is rough on the soap. I will say I read more good than bad though. I also noticed Kangaroo Blue used to sell what looked like a nice beveler/planer but I dont think they are in business anymore. I might order the "Little Shaver" since that is all it seems like it out there and if i dont like it I'm just going get one of the cornering tools. Thanks for the insight! :-)

I use a 35% water solution... I'm going to try to turn the bars more frequently and put them into an air conditioned room and see if that helps Thanks for the feedback guys... I appreciate it!
