I use lx-24 on all my 3 inch pillars. They all burn perfectly everytime.

We all face that "caught between a rock and a hard place" decision. Personally, I would invest in a color laser printer. They are more expensive than ink jet but I feel makes a better, vibrant, durable label. A printer is also is a necessity for your business needs so it will eventually pay for itself. If you would have a company print your labels the expense will be much, much more. You would have to have a minimum number of labels printed and if you have tin candles with different scents (thus different names) you will have to have a minimum number to be printed of each type. For starting out in business this can be very expensive. As your business later grows then you can do this method for it would be more economical than a printer.
So, another decision - what type of printer? This depends on how much you wish to spend. First, try contacting a sales rep at Online Labels or Avery and ask what type of laser printer they would recommend when using their labels. Try to get them to name a few models of printers that are easy to print their labels. Then go to a business supply company such as Staples or OfficeMax and have a salesperson show you the models that the label company suggests for you. I hope this advise helps you!
Actually this info is not accurate, but it's what I believe as well before I actually ordered printed labels a few years back. There is a minimum order quantity but you can spread the minimum number over different labels. I have 22 scents for my candle tins. The minimum order was 250 labels. Times 22 labels was 5,500 labels I thought I need to buy! Turns out I bought 20 of one labels, 50 of another, 100 of another until I met my minimum. There was a set up cost for each level over 5. Like $10 per extra label but that was one time set up fee.
As to the question of self printing. I use both method. I sell 4 and 8 oz tins. After extensive testing and hundreds of sheets, I came to realize that printing small round labels was not possible due to printer drift which happens with every printer (according to the online labels tech). The first label looks good but each one down the page was out slightly. I was able to print my 8 oz tin labels successfully as there was more room between the labels on the page and the drift was not as noticeable.
I pay about 10 cents per printed label for my smaller labels. Damn cheap actually and each one is perfect. The labels I print myself are often not perfect (but very close). I would recommend a printer overall. I usually buy 2000 to 3000 labels at a time at 10 cents (you will pay 25 cents per label buying only the 250 minimum so buy as much as you can afford).
I also print my own wrap label. Is the small round that have me the most problem!! Good luck...

I microwave my ED oil bottles to melt them. Micro on high for 1 min then shake. Micro another 45 seconds then shake. Net had a problem. Don't forget to remove all of the foil seal (I use a knife) from both the cap and bottle. If you don't sparks could fly!

So I'm not seeing anything indicating that the bars are not useable. If I can take the color I am assuming their ok to sell/use...

Anyone ever had the problem I am currently having? I am making salt soap. 75 percent coconut soil, 25 percent other oils (shea, avacado, grapeseed, and castor). Then 75% salt by oil weight. 1 oz of scent per lb of oil weight and liquid key west green color.
Now most scent/color combos make beautiful green bars made in silicone 5 oz molds. But I am finding with a few scents (pineapple and pina colada) that as they bars cool they turn from a nice green to a nasty brown. I've used a brown bar and it lathers well. Wondering if anyone has had this experience and if there's a solution short of dont use the scents that discolor.

Has anyone ever had their cupcake bath bomb frosting mold? After sealing them in shrink swap I am seeing mold spots on the frosting. Non sealed are not molding. I am using the recipe from soap queen.
Also the frosting takes a long time to dissolve. Seems if I don't break it up y hand it would float forever! Any advice?

I use a shot of Pam cooking oil. Soap comes out easily.

Dendritic salt is best used to carry scent as it has a much larger surface area than sea salt. Scent should be added first to the dendritic salt, then mixed with the sea/Epsom salt.

I make beer soap and add The lye without removing the alcohol. I've never had a fizz. I always use flat beer so the carbonation doesn't affect the fiz.

I have found 100 percent lye for cleaning drains locally. Going to give that a try.

This company does and I believe most companies will send it. http://www.essentialdepot.com/servlet/the-Alaska--dsh--Hawaii--dsh--US-Territories-%26-APO-fdsh-FPO-address/Categories
Actually most companies will not send Lye on an airplane. I have called 4 so far. I will try essentialdepot.

Does anyone know how I can ship lye via airplane? No ground service to Hawaii.

Cleanest scent ever..... Himalayan Bamboo from candle science.

That's a load of crap. Driving 55 is the law too. I went to our local Pier One Imports and not a single candle sold at that national chain listed the candle weight. Many sold at Walmart did not either. Use common sense and forget the hall monitor types on this board! The candle police will NOT show up at your business. Just stupid advice!!!

keep burning. I find my starburst catches up more then I expect.

Htp's are only slightly self trimming at best! In 4627 I have to trim them before every burn. Less in soy.
-
Yes. I use the exact same wicks in my 3 inch diameter glass. They burn well.
-
The 16s are only a tick smaller in diameter than the 8s. I wick my 4627 with an htp 93 or 104 max. Soy may be different.
-
I've poured candles at 175 degrees and the next day at 200 degrees and there has never been a difference in burn. I suggest you worry about the things that are worth worrying about and don't sweat the details.
-
I use htp 93 to 104 with 4627. Wicking 3 inch diameter tins. Never smoke.
-
My 8 oz tins are single pour with 4627. No air bubbles. Smooth level tops. What kind of container are you pouring?

A spigot can be placed in any pesto pot. Start away from the trap and screw method and stick to the jb weld method.

Robert:
I'm just curious as to how much vybar you add per lb of wax. Do you find this wax generally leaks oil at 1.2oz/lb of scent or does it leak oil under certain environmental conditions?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Neil
I used to use as much as 1/2 tsp per lb but found it bound my scent. Now I use less than 1/4, typically like 6 or 7 granuals. I get no leakage at all.

Yup Yup.. the person who sells it last is responsible for the sales tax.
You need to look into your States rules. In Hawaii I charge a wholesaler 0.5 percent excise (sales) tax and she charges the public 4.16 percent. Its not the last person to sell the candle that pays the sales tax.

In testing I burned my lx-24s for as many as 6 hours. Never had a blow out.
