  1. I absolutely LOVE this scent, but I haven't been able to find a dup to make my own! According to their website Serenity is "This sweet scent brings to mind happier times filled with notes of pineapple, mint, apples, and cake." Does anyone out there have a suggestion to a similar scent? One of my new year's resolutions was to STOP buying candles because I MAKE them. :grin2: Thanks all!

  2. That's ok, I think I'll play around with it. I talked to her about doing unscented, but she will not hear of it. She's carrying hydrangeas and all the table decorations are silk hydrangeas and she wants the scent. Not pleasant. I have several months, so I'm going to order the Hydrangea from NG and play (maybe half scented, the other half 3%). Thanks for the help though!

  3. I was wondering if anyone out there found a straight Hydrangea scent that was true to the flower? I'm not a fan of florals, so I'm a TERRIBLE judge. Also, I need the scent for a TON of wedding candles I'm starting. This leads me to my next question - The bride wants 160 votives, 10 medium pillars and 10 4 wick pillars. She doesn't know the exact size of the room, but it fits 60 eight person tables, plus a small bar, so it's a big room. I'm wondering the ratio of scented vs unscented. Initially, she wanted them ALL scented at normal, but I think that's way too much. SO now I'm wondering if I should scent everything at 3% instead of my normal 6% or just scent half at 6% or is THAT too much still? GACK - why did I volunteer for this (it better drum up some business). :cheesy2: Thanks all!

  4. I was setting up for my very first craft show this evening and I'm in a room next to another candle maker. No problems there I was quite pleased with my set up. They saw I was selling candles as well and one of them said something to the effect - "We've got the best store - going to do mighty well tomorrow" (followed by hyena like laugh). Now, they didn't say it to me, but they could have waited until they were out of earshot. Just bugged me a little. I'm already nervous enough. Thanks for listening and wish me luck!!:smiley2:

  5. I'm preparing for my first craft show in two months and I was only planning on doing candles, but the demand for my wax dipped bears has gotten me thinking I should add some to the inventory. So far, I've only done "bears to order" and I'm not sure how far in advance I can do a bear and still have them remain fresh. I'd hate to sell a bear that someone is going to have a use a hair dryer on right away. Any hints so I can get my bears started and I'm not pulling my hair out 2 days before the show? Thanks!

  6. I'm in LOVE with the Sweet Pumpkin Spice from Peaks Candle Supply. It smells like the fragrance of the same name from Bath and Bodyworks. The throw is great both hot and cold in quite a few different soy waxes. I use about 1 oz per pound. I wouldn't say it's "knock you out strong", but I could smell it in my 16x24 great room very well.
