Thank you for reply pleasureridgecandles "Are they actually wet spots or is it just pull away from the jars (where it may look like a wet spot)?" I thought that it is the same... Could you explain the differences? In my situation the wax pulls away from the jar, but after the contact with cold weather. Before that, in my workshop candles look perfect. "Next time your in the store take a look at some of the jar candles being sold. Almost everyone I see from numerous companies, even Yankee, have it." Yes I notice that, but you know, I wish to had perfect candle, not with defect like others. "Most customers don't seem to care about it." I hope it will last forever "As for temperature there's really nothing that can be done about it." I think you have right. My only idea is to fill the package with foamed polystyrene but against very low temperatures it will not pass the exam. Thank you Best wishes

Hi everyone After many weeks of testing I finnaly make beautiful soy candles. I make my candles in glass containers, using CB-Xcel, they look great, with now wet spots etc. But while the weather is going down and reaches temperatures less than 5 degrees (40 Farenheit) I have problem with transporting them to my costumers. Low temperatures cousees shrinking and wet spots on the glass. Do you have any idea how to solve this problem? Maybe you get you packages/parcels wormer somehow or you add something for making wax more cold resist? I'm waiting for answers :smiley2: Best regards

Thank you -
Hello everyone I have just started producing simple soy container candles using CB Xcel from IGI. My aim is making 100% natural aroma candles made of CB Xcel and essential oils. Is it really possible? I read that it is hard to mix oil with soy wax. What are proportions of wax and esssential oil? Do You have any priceless advices about making this kind of candles. I will be gratefull for help. Best wishes Thaiphoon

It's obvious that it is paraffine wax but is it wax for cut 'n' carve? My wasn't so I had problems like yours. About water, all I know is that it should have room temperature. Maybe you are dipping candle in water too long? It has to take only a moment. It's hard to help because I'm quite new in cut 'n' carve subject too. -

Hi peanut, welcome on forum I had the same problem but I had used simple paraffin wax. What wax are you using? Maybe just try different brand of dyes? By the way, you sad you have all for carving...where you get candle glaze? Best regards -
EricofAZ thank you for help. I have visited a lot of online shops located in USA sience the idea about making caut&curl candles has borned. The problem is that the shipping will cost me a lot and the delivery time is quite long. Additionally when we order something from other country than European Union we pay extra charge for it. I was trying to find any online shop in Europe but with no results. A representative from NGI in UK send me some samples of wax. I will see it is good enought for carving. I found some shops in UK with this wax but the prices...it is daylight rubbery Best regards!

Hello everyone I going to make cut & curl candles but in my country are not waxes for carving. We have many kinds of paraffin waxes so there is no problem for making core of the candle. Unfortunately those waxes are not flexible enought to make cuts and curl in them. I'm sure that you know some formulas how to make own wax for carving. Please give me any recipe :smiley2: Best Regards!

You are right, I will do this -
Hello I just start making candles :yay:I see that everyone use different soy waxes for their candles. I just received samples of cb-xcel, cb-advanced, cb-135 from NGI. What is your opinion about this products? Do you recomend any of those three for candles with FO in glass containers? I'm also thinking about making simple pillar candles using PB EcoSoya wax (I have sample of it too), what do you think about it? Best regards

Home made molds for cut n curl
Thaiphoon replied to Thaiphoon's topic in General Candle Making Discussions
Vicky_CO thank you for this site, you really help me Steve - of course I saw that movie. Some artists sad that you need only few months to learn carving. It depends on many things. Dana Brooks in her book sad that you need only few weeks. I think that the most advanced techniques require a year of learning. -

Thaiphoon replied to Thaiphoon's topic in General Candle Making Discussions
EricofAZ - I'm talking about molds for candle core. If we have any shops in Poland with this molds I would buy it. Cut n curl is something new in Poland so there is no equipment for it. Candybee - I have already read many posts of mr Bruce. Thaiphoon replied to Thaiphoon's topic in General Candle Making Discussions
Hi. I have already watched all videos on youtube but thanks for help anyway The idea about carving candles begins when I saw the film "How it's made - carved candles" on Discovery Channel, the same like you recommend. About book, I found one in UK bookshop and I'm going to order it. I wish in Poland or even in Europe were any well equipped shops with supplies for carving candles. There is nothing like star metal mould and tools for carving like for example Spiral Twist Cutter Maybe someone makes moulds individual and could give me some advices how to make them?? Regards -

IwantItgreen have You ever borrowed some books and made notes from them? Or Have You ever copied any interesting chapter from some school text book? I just want this book to get some informations from it. Besides it's only for my own behoof. I can't keep copies on my computer for more than 24 hours so I promise I will delete this files after 24 hours. Many Internet sites with all kind of data works like this.
