Ok..this is really a stupid question I know, but what should the texture of the melts be? Pictures I have seen of them look really smooth, almost like candy. Mine are more like bath bombs. I used shea instead of cocoa because I didn't have cocoa butter on hand. When I melted the shea, added baking soda and cornstarch and mixed that well, I added FO, color then citric acid. I got the citric acid reaction and it was pretty much just a gloppy mess. I packed in into my molds (sort of:confused: ) and now that they have sit it the freezer 20 min. they look just like bath bombs. Maybe that's what they should look like and I just was expecting something else. Thanks for any input. This sounded so easy

Back to Monkey Farts...NG and Wixnwax
Alabaster Caribbean Fruit and Kumquat are the same..or at least used to be
Muscadine--NG, WNW, Keystone, and Alabaster
Blueberry Cobbler--NG, Keystone, and ICS blueberry cheesecake
Amaretto Nog--WNW, Keystone, JS
Mulberry-NG, WNW, ICS
Kudzu--Alabaster, WNW, ICS
There are lots more that my stuffed up head can't quite come up with but I will look later.
I know that some of these are pretty common scents that shouldn't be too hard to be alike, but I have gotten some of these scents from other suppliers that didn't smell anything like these. And once you find what you like, you don't want anything else.

Both are very pretty!

I don't post much as you can see, but I have to pop in to say these are the most beautiful container candles I think I have ever seen! So much so I just went and ordered me some of that wax too I am amazed..never seen anything this pretty. I had never heard of this wax til today. I haven't been on the boards much lately so I guess I'm a little behind.
I tried to read thru a lot of these posts about this wax. I'm hoping it's hot throw is as good as "regular" palm wax is. I've only used palm a little but I love it. I have a "high end" show the end of this month and I would love to have some beautiful containers like these to take!
One question..anybody use zinc core wicks with this wax? I guess I'm just an old candle maker stuck in her old ways, but I only use zinc wicks. I've experimented with other wicks a couple of times but never got the same great burn as I do with them.
Well, enough rambling I guess. These pictures have made my day and prompted me to try something new!

At Christmas I make a lot of Hot Chocolate mugs. I let my wax cool some in the pouring pot then then add FO. I then pour it into a large ziplock bag. After it gets to the consistency of frosting, I snip off a corner and pipe the wax on the top. Works great!

All I use is Baking Soda and FO. It smells great and people love it. I just hate making it. I wish there were a better way than just using a mixer. I feel like I'm covered in it when I get done. I smell good though :smiley2:
