Yeah..this started back around October. But they got stuff back in stock and I thought that everything was good. And only a few weeks later, everything was out of stock again. I guess it's time to make the change

I think that maybe they are going out. It's been weeks since they have had J50, jelly jars or many FO's. Only reason I have been with them all these years is the price and speed of delivery being only a state away. Oh well, guess it's time to make the change

Will do!

Forgive me if this has been discussed previouly. I just wanted to see if anyone knows what is up with Alabaster? I have used them for years but for weeks now they have had no jelly jars or J50. When I call and ask if they know when they might have these back in stock all I get is a "No". Anyone know anything? I hope they aren't going out of business..

Thanks! I did quite a bit of research last night after I posted this and read quite a few really old posts about this issue. Next pour I will try what you have suggested. Thanks again

I am still relatively new to this wax and just can't figure it out. I got mine from Candle Science. I followed the directions and the middle of my candle is beautiful..but the top and bottom don't have as much of the starburst effect. Any ideas on where I went wrong? TIA:)

They look great!

Thanks for this info! The cheapest I had found before this was Tenn Candle at $6.20. I like the pewter lids I have been using but for the difference I guess I can get used to the gold

Pretty much all I make are 8 oz jelly jars. I use J50 and 51-32-18 zinc wicks. Works great for years now

kandlenutz..since you mentioned the Candlemakers Store..have you used their liquid candle dye? I see there's are much cheaper than what I use. Just wondered if they are really concentrated..

Comparing prices between Alabaster, Candle Science and Tennessee Candles, TCS has the best price. $6.20 lids and all. I have always got mine from Alabaster and honestly didn't realize TCS was that much cheaper. When I absolutely have them shipped instead of picking up at Alabaster I know where I will get them now

I have used J223 on occasion when my supplier was out of J50. For me, it's one of those "if it ain't broke don't fix it" kinda things.

Except Alabaster is out and don't know when they will have anymore
-
I get mine from Alabaster

I have been making candles for the better part of 9 years. I have always used J50 and always will. I don't think the scent throw can be beat

Just ordered a pound from TCS..can't wait!

It's been a while, so I'm not sure where else I got this FO from, but it smelled nothing like Wendy's. No comparison! Got to get me some of that!

Great! Thank you very much:cheesy2:

Hello everyone. I have been out of the candle making loop for a couple of years and am now ready to get back into business Now I have a question I hope someone can help me with. I remember ordering a Vanilla Bean Noel FO from..Wendy I think? Does anyone remember this? It was the best smelling Vanilla Bean Noel I had ever smelled. I would appreciate it very much if someone could guide me in the right dirrection that I might could find this again.

The olive oil is most definetly part of the problem then. It is extra virgin olive oil. One of the first batches I made was really white but in the middle of all these recipes I have printed out, I don't remember which one it was:o I'm thinking it was mostly lard, coconut oil and some castor oil. Thanks again for the help :smiley2:

Thanks for the advice. I think the olive oil would have been the only dark colored oil I used. I will try something else in it's place. Thanks :smiley2:

Ok, here's what I have in my latest 4 lb. batch of soap:
avacaco oil
castor oil
hemp oil
mango butter
olive oil
rice bran oil
shea butter
lard
Now, it's a nice soap, but I am looking for a nice white bar. This is off white, cream colored. I know you can add TD, but is there a way to get a really white bar without it? Thanks for any input :smiley2:

You should be OK..I've been making pillars, sometimes non-scented, for years and never spray mine and they come out fine. From time to time I have one that wants to be stubborn and I pop it in the freezer for a few minutes and then it slides right out.:smiley2:

I haven't made any in a while, but I'm thinking it was 1 TB per pound. Nice and strong and I didn't have any problems with it being too wet.
Alabaster??

I called back somewhere around the 28th of January and was told supplies were on order. Well, here we are the 4th of February and still nothing. I hope this rumor is true because I too would much rather go pickup(even though it a 2 hour drive each way) than to pay shipping. Keep us updated if you here more. I talked to Carol and her answers were very vague..
