  1. Don't want to make things confusing for you, but did you look at Peak's kits? They are a good deal, the container kit includes 4630, 4 fragrances 2 oz each I believe, a pouring pitcher, thermometer, wicks, dye chips and tins- it's what I used to get started and was a good value. You'll still need to find a scale, and also get soy wax as it appears that it what you want to work with.... just a thought.... :)

  2. I'm getting into this habit also. This weekend I made a bunch of melts (just for me, mainly to test out fragrances)- I really want to try to use up ones that I have, I don't like wasting any. I also test a bunch in lotions, small containers, as I find that the fragrance is very different with some when it's put in lotion rather than on q-tip or OOB. I want to try blending some together also, experimenting with mixers, otherwise I may have to sift through and sell ones that I know I don't like. I have a hard time working with fo's that I don't like- ie I'm probably one of the very few that doesn't like Chocolate Suede from CC- love all of her other fo's! I just can't do the musky scents. A spreadsheet makes so much sense- will have to try that, thanks for sharing that tip!!

  3. Hello, my name is Sarah and it's been two weeks since my last fo order (had to get ewax from MMS, so just HAD to try out more fo's from there to justify the shipping, and had to take advantage of the CS sale of course!). I have bunches of sticky notes lying around with lists of ones I want to try from other places- just have to stay away from those on-line shopping carts! I'm determined to use up the sample bottles that I have- so if I get the urge to order, I go to my fo closet, open a couple, sniff, ahhh, then try to go on with my day.... one day at a time...one day at a time.... one day at a time.... :)

  4. Would adding chocolate fudge (CS) to the peppermint Bark (CS) cut down on the peppermint? Just got both of these in my order this week, along with a bunch of others- will be pouring/testing this weekend- excited to try some of these new fragrances! (now just have to send my boys out fishing so I can play with my wax and fo's!!:)

  5. Warm Apple Pie- it is really nice in lotion. Love the Birthday Cake in parasoy- nice and strong, didn't like as well in lotion (more of a cake scent, not as much of the frosting). Georgia Peach is also nice in lotion (I've been testing a few in lotions along with wax). So many from Peak are good- I have many more to test!!

  6. Has anyone tried any of the fragrances from Enchanged Lights? They are close and I'm wanting to try their soy wax along with some of their fragrances that would throw well in soy and parasoy. (I tried searching, but didn't come up with anything...) TIA! (you guys are the best!!)

  7. CS and Peak's also have great sales on their sample sizes/packs throughout the year (sometimes $.99 each)- so it's good to watch for those, get on their email mailing list (that's how I've gotten SOOOO many of those little bottles in my closet!:) it gets to be an addiction so watch out! :) Peak's Birthday Cake is wonderful by the way, and Daystar's Buttercream Frosting- if you like bakery scents. CS's Creme Brulee is also wonderful (I use 4633 in containers). Good luck and welcome to the forum!

  8. I've found the same thing, I'm just making for me and friends for now and not selling yet. I like that Candle Cocoon will use the small flat rate box through USPS, and I was able to get quite a few 1 oz'ers in that box. Also, FYI, I noticed that MMS has free shipping on a 7 sample pack of fragrances (you can only order the sample pack with this offer, no other items), but it's a good way to try some new scents with little shipping.
