These are beautiful....so yummy...and natural looking...great job..I'm have a sweet tooth geezzzzzzzzzz....these are tempting. Running to the kitchen for something sweet...I love the pics but I hate the temptation LOL..

I use a really good lotion base from the African Shea Butter Company http://store.africansheabuttercompany.com/index.html the base is very thick and has cocoa, shea, & mango butter. It's not oily but the moisture is awesome. This is the best lotion base I've found for really dry skin but it is soooooo thick. I tried thinning it by adding oils etc to no avail... I didn't want to add mineral oil but I did try adding shea oil and the thickness stayed. However, my customers loved it so much and didn't care about the thickness. It really can be sold in a jar more like a body cream or body butter. I have procrastinated about adding it to some shea butter an whipping it to make a body butter. I also purchase my ultra refined shea butter and shea oil from this company. Good luck HTH Mamafe Candles

I agree with you on the corn cob alone, which is why I started this thread. It sold good for me but I wasn't pleased with the longevity of the scent throw...It smells really strong the first few days and then the scent dies...it smells if you put it to ya nose or directly in front of the a/c vent in the car but I wanted something that held the scent longer. The vermicuite is nice and it is what most of the competitors use...Heck, I opened a bag I purchased from a local store and didn't know what the hell that was inside the bag LOL...which is another reason I started this thread hoping someone could tell me LOL. At any rate, I found out what it was and when I came to the board on yesterday I saw someone had already posted about the vermiculite. I am testing it now with the corn cob, but since Hawaiian is raving about the salt I must try it...heck maybe I will use all 3, corn cob, salt and vermiculite..HMMMMMM,,, at this point whatever works

Hello Kimberly, I'm curious to know your f/o ratio using the corncob/vermiculite and how long does the freshener last? I'm still testing this combination and so far it's week 2 and the freshener is still smelling in my SUV. Also, do you insert the ingredient inside a plastic liner before putting into the muslin bag? I see you guys have been busy with the air fresheners and testing. GREATTTTTT....I've been testing the Vermiculite and I did get some potpourri fixative that is awesome but too expensive. I ordered 40lbs of vermiculite and I plan to add it with the corn cob bedding. How's the salt coming along....I've read everyone's post and I will try the salt but goodness I don't have time to wait days for it to dry. Hmmmm!!! I do put my vermiculite/corn cob in a 1mil plastic bag before inserting into the muslin bag because I stamp my bags with my logo before packaging and the ink will bleed if I don't use a plastic bag. Believe it or not it still smells through the 1mil plastic bag, muslin bag and the 2mil bag I use for the finished packaging. I've been busy as heck doing volunteer work here in Houston with the Hurricane victims at the Astrodome. But it's great to see you guys are still at it and posting some helpful information. Hello All, I had a customer call me today and she is looking for a candle that drips excessively. She'd like to drip candle wax on mesh covered wine bottles. She said someone told her there is a particular kind of candle that drips excessively. I advised her to use cheap dollar store tapers & explained that there are candles that don't drip, but I have never heard of a particular candle that drips more than the norm, but I would ask around. When I read this my mind wondered if it absorbs odor from cat litter and kills the smell what would be the results with the F/O. I purchase my corn cob bedding from a local feed store in large quantity, however I've been told you can get it at your local Walmart. I use the 3x4 muslin bags & I purchase those from Uline.com, cheaper than most places I've shopped for muslin bags....the strings aren't as long as I'd like for them to be...still looking for bags with a longer string . Have fun...Also you can use the cute organza bags as well and sell them as linen drawer/air fresheners, my customers like those also, I retail them for $1.99. Mamafe HTH

Hawaiian, They are sooooooooooo easy to do...I order them unscented from http://www.bellandcompanytrader.homestead.com/, and all you do is use a paint brush to apply the fragrance oil on the back and front...let dry and package....I sell them for 2.99 and they last a veryyyyyyy long time... they are the best air freshener blanks I've found. Lots of different colors and shapes to choose from. I hope I haven't broken any posting regulations by posting this link lol. If so I'M SOWRYYYYYYY!!! MAMAFE

Hmmm, Hawaiian Ok, I mix each fragrance in a 6 quart container with 6 ounces of F/0 basically 1 oz per quart of corn cob. I use a 1/4 cup scoop which usually makes 70-75 fresheners per batch. I let it absorb for at least 24 hours before packaging...it depends sometimes longer . Honestly, I've always did the air freshener blanks...and when I was blessed with these accounts I couldn't sell the blanks at the wholesale price I negotiated so to lower cost I decided to do the Muslin bag fresheners. I make 600-1000 muslin bag fresheners per week. The bags are a lot more work than the blanks. I love doing these blanks :smiley2:

Good lawd I learn something everyday....is that what cellulose fiber is ground corn cob....well I had my supplier order me some ground corn cob last week and added it to the large corn cob...I was thinking the ground corn cob would absorb the oil more...cant really say that I noticed a big difference...however I did like the way the combination filled the muslin bags.. Hawaaian, Thank you sooooooooo much for the recommendation....I use aroma beads also girlie but shoot they are tooooooooooo expensive for the volume of muslin bag fresheners I make. I have several car wash, gas stations. and store accounts. I'm pleased with the corn cob but I'm my worst critic....I recently started putting the corn corb inside a 1mil plastic bag before inserting into the muslin bag.. which helps the scent last longer.....Honestly my customers love these bags because they have numerous uses. I have customers that purchase them and hang them on the air conditioner vents in every room...However, as I said I"m my biggest CRITIC and the problem I have with the corn cob is when I place a freshener in my car it smells really strong for the first 3-5 days.....ok, ok, ok, I know the Xmas tree hanging fresheners smell 1 day lol........at any rate...the scent definitely stays in the muslin bag longer than most fresheners I've purchased, but I'd like for the strong scent to last longer.....of course I smell it and my customers are satisfied but I want the strong scent to last longer. Hello all, I am presently doing the corn cob 3x4 sachet bag air fresheners. Does anyone know of something else to use/add that absorbs and stabilizes the fragrance oil? The corn cob fresheners last fairly well but I'm always looking for ways to improve my product. I was hoping some of the potpourri makers might suggest something I could add with the corn cob or maybe even change what I'm using to stuff my bags. I opened another muslin bag freshener and hmmmm, it looks like ground cork. Any suggestions anyone?????????? Thanks Mamafe
